Day 1:
Arrive CairoWelcome to Egypt - the gift of the Nile as
described by Herodotus. Upon arrival at Cairo International
Airport, you will be met and assisted by our representative
who will help you through passport control, baggage claim,
and all customs formalities. You will then be transferred to
your hotel by a private air-conditioned vehicle for
check-in. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2:
Pyramids of Giza & Sakkara Step PyramidAfter breakfast,
enjoy an excursion to the Pyramids of Giza, home of Cheops,
Chefren and Mykerinus. From there proceed to the Great
Sphinx, the head of a pharaoh with a lion's body, dating to
the time of Chephren. The tour also includes a visit to the
Valley Temple which belongs to the Pyramids of Chephren.
Complete your tour with a visit to the Step Pyramid of King
Zoser at Sakkara.
Day 3:
Alexandria / Train To AswanAfter breakfast, enjoy an
excursion to the second capital of Egypt, Alexandria. Sites
in Alexandria include Qaitbay Citadel, built in the 15th
century by Sultan Qaitbay on the spot of Alexandria’s
ancient lighthouse; Montazah Palace, which combines Turkish
and Florentine architectural styles; the new and much
acclaimed Alexandria Library; the Roman cemetery, cut out of
rock; and the Catacombs. Return to Cairo and board the
sleeper train to Aswan. Overnight on train.
Day 4:
Nile CruiseA Memphis Tours representative will meet & greet
you at Aswan railway station and transfer to your five star
deluxe Nile Cruise ship. Lunch & dinner on board.
Day 5:
Aswan Sightseeing ToursEnjoy a day of siteseeing in Aswan.
Start with the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk which is
considered the largest piece of stone ever made; this
obelisk most likely belongs to Queen Hatshepsut. Continue on
to the beautiful Temple of Philae, which is devoted to the
goddesses Isis and Hathor. Return to the ship for lunch and
sail to Kom Ombo. Upon arrival, visit Kom Ombo Temple.
Return to the ship for afternoon tea before an oriental
dinner. In the evening, dress up and enjoy a Galabaya
costume party. Sail to Edfu.
Day 6:
Edfu / LuxorAfter breakfast, visit Ptolemaic Temple,
dedicated to Horus. It was built during the reign of Ptolemy
VIII to Ptolemy XII and is considered the best preserved
temple in Egypt. Return to the ship for lunch and sail to
Esna. Dinner on board with an evening Disco party. Sail to
Luxor.
Day 7:
Luxor Sightseeing / Transfer To HurghadaEnjoy an early
morning excursion to Valley of the Kings and see the
grandeur of architecture that was used for burial. From
Valley of the Kings, move to El Deir Bahari Temple, built by
Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt
for approximately 20 years during the 18th Dynasty. Finally,
visit the Colossi of Memnon before disembarking from your
cruise. In the afternoon you will be transferred to Hurghada
by a private air-conditioned vehicle. Overnight in Hurghada.
Day 8:
Optional Hurghada ExcursionsChoose from several optional
tours and experience the exquisite diving and snorkeling
among the coral reefs and marine life of the Red Sea. You
can also choose from one of the many other water activities
such as windsurfing, sailing, or deep-sea fishing.
Day 9:
Back To CairoAfter breakfast, you will be transferred to
Cairo via private air-conditioned vehicle. Overnight in
Cairo.
Day 10:
DepartureAfter breakfast, you will be transferred to Cairo
International Airport for final departure
