Day 1:
Arrive CairoWelcome to Egypt - the gift of the Nile as
described by Herodotus. Upon arrival at Cairo International
Airport, you will be met and assisted by a Memphis Tours
representative who will help you through passport control,
baggage claim and all customs formalities. You will then be
transferred to your hotel by a private air-conditioned
vehicle for check-in. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2:
Pyramids of Giza& the Sphinx After breakfast, relish in a
day of sightseeing via a private vehicle. First, see the
ancient capital of Memphis which was founded by King
Menes;during Old Kingdom Memphis was the capital of Egypt.
Second, proceed to the Step Pyramid at Sakkara which was
designed by the architect Imhotep for his master King Zoser.
Third, visit the pyramids of Giza,home of Cheops, Chefren
and Mykerinus. From there proceed to the Great Sphinx, the
head of a pharaoh with a lion's body, dating to the time of
Chephren. The tour also includes a visit to the Valley
Temple which belongs to the Pyramids of Chephren. Overnight
in Cairo.
Day 3:
Dahshur PyramidsAfter breakfast, you will be driven to
Dahshur which is located Southwest of Memphis at some 10
kilometres to the South of Sakkara. Here you will see the
Bent Pyramid & the Red Pyramid both were built by Snefru,
the founder of the 4th Dynasty. Return to your hotel.
Overnight in Cairo.
Day 4:
Cairo or AlexandriaAfter breakfast, choose between a free
day in Cairo or an optional tour to Alexandria. Sites in
Alexandria include Qaitbay Citadel, built in the 15th
century by Sultan Qaitbay on the spot of Alexandria’s
ancient lighthouse; Montazah Palace, which combines Turkish
and Florentine architectural styles; the new and much
acclaimed Alexandria Library; the Roman cemetery cut out of
the rock; and the Catacombs. Return to Cairo for overnight
stay.
Day 5:
DepartureAfter breakfast, transfer to Cairo International
Airport for final departure.
