Day 01: Cairo
Arrival at Cairo airport. After you clear customs and
collect your luggage, a our representative will meet you and
assist with the transfer to your hotel. Check in and
overnight at hotel in Cairo.
Day 2: Cairo
This morning we drive to the Giza Plateau, home of Egypt's
signature attractions: the Great Pyramids, proclaimed by the
Greeks to be among the Seven Wonders of the ancient world.
We visit the great Pyramids of Giza and their guardian
Sphinx, Memphis-first capital of the ancient kingdom to see
the statue of Ramses II then to Sakkara to see the Step
pyramid. Optional - After dinner on your own, return to Giza
for a spectacular Sound & Light show. Nothing compares to
seeing the Pyramids and the Sphinx illuminated at night; the
visual effects as well as dramatic commentary make for an
unforgettable evening. Overnight at hotel in Cairo.
Day 03: Cairo - Luxor.
This morning take Optional tour to Egyptian Museum the
world-renowned Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. Accompanied
by your certified Egyptologist, you'll stroll through the
halls highlighting each historical period of this ancient
land. Spend the evening at leisure on your own in Cairo.
Overnight aboard first class sleeper train to Luxor.
Day 04: Cairo
Today we explore Luxor's legendary West Bank - home to the
famous Valleys of the Kings and Queens, the imposing
colonnaded temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the gigantic
Colossi of Memnon. See how the ancient Egyptians confounded
tomb robbers with the construction of elaborate catacombs
once filled with treasures, and highly decorated to allow
the pharaoh passage to the afterlife.. Evening at leisure.
Overnight in Luxor.
Day 05: Luxor - Cairo.
Today we visit East bank - Karnak Temple. More than a
temple, Karnak is a spectacular complex of sanctuaries,
pylons, statuettes and obelisks. Built on a grand scale,
Karnak is probably Egypt's finest ancient temple. Evening
transfer to station to board sleeper train back to Cairo.
Day 06: Cairo- Alexandria.
Day at leisure or take optional excursion to Alexandria,
Egypt's second largest city and main port, for a full-day
tour. Founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC. Explore the
well-preserved ruins of the Roman amphitheater, Alexandria
Library. After lunch at a local restaurant, see the Fort of
Qaitbey from the outside. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 07: Luxor.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight
back to Cairo. After checking into your hotel, you're at
leisure until this evening.
