Day 1:
Arrive CairoWelcome to Egypt - the gift of the Nile as
described by Herodotus. Upon arrival at Cairo International
Airport, you will be met and assisted by a Memphis Tours
representative who will help you through passport control,
baggage claim, and all customs formalities. You will then be
transferred to your hotel by a private air-conditioned
vehicle for check-in. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2:
Pyramids of Giza & Egyptian MuseumAfter breakfast, enjoy an
excursion to the Pyramids of Giza, home of Cheops, Chefren
and Mykerinus. Then proceed to the Great Sphinx, the head of
a pharaoh with a lion's body, dating to the time of Chephren.
The tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple which
belongs to the Pyramids of Chephren. After that, visit the
Egyptian Museum where you can see great pharaonic treasures
including those of Tutankhamun. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3:
Alamein / Marsa MatrouhAfter breakfast, travel by a private,
air-conditioned vehicle to Alamein, approximately 310 km
from Cairo. Alamein was the site of a great battle during
WWII; here you will also visit the WWII Museum and Cemetery.
Continue your journey to Marsa Matrouh on the Mediterranean
Coast. Overnight in Marsa Matrouh.
Day 4:
Marsa MatrouhAfter breakfast, discover a living tapestry of
exotic water as you are drawn to the magnificence of the
Mediterranean Sea. Al-Obayed, Cleopatra Bath, in addition to
Rommel Museum, are the best places to visit in Marsa Matrouh.
Overnight in Marsa Matrouh.
Day 5:
Optional Tour To SiwaEnjoy an optional tour to Siwa Oasis
where you can visit the old fortified town of Siwa. You'll
also have the opportunity to see the ancient tombs in the
Mountain of the Dead as well as the Temple of Amun, also
called the Oracle Temple, which was dedicated to the god
Amon. This temple is where Alexander the Great is said t
have consulted the oracle. Overnight in Marsa Matrouh.
Day 6:
AlexandriaAfter breakfast, you will be driven back to
Alexandria for an overnight stay.
Day 7:
Alexandria SightseeingAfter breakfast, enjoy an excursion to
the second capital of Egypt, Alexandria. Sites in Alexandria
include Qaitbay Citadel, built in the 15th century by Sultan
Qaitbay on the spot of Alexandria’s ancient lighthouse;
Montazah Palace, which combines Turkish and Florentine
architectural styles; the new and much acclaimed Alexandria
Library; the Roman cemetery, cut out of rock; and the
Catacombs. Return to Cairo for overnight stay.
Day 8:
DepartureAfter breakfast, transfer to Cairo International
Airport for final departure
